Dr. Alejandro Canonero

Ecosystem strategist. Executive advisor. Author. Practitioner-scholar in artificial intelligence, cloud, SaaS, marketplaces, and partner-led growth.

Dr. Alejandro Canonero, DBA, combines doctoral research with more than three decades of international operating experience. He helps boards, founders, governments, and technology leaders understand where control is moving, then build the partnerships, routes to market, and operating discipline required to create durable advantage.

Executive operating model

Command the system, not the logo wall.

The Ecosystem Commander is the leadership model for markets where competition is no longer product versus product, but ecosystem versus ecosystem.

The Commander does not win by issuing more orders. The Commander designs the system in which partners, incentives, governance, and field execution move in the same direction.

What the model solves

It gives leadership teams a practical way to decide where to build, where to partner, how to enter a market, how to defend against platform envelopment, and how to turn an ecosystem thesis into measurable commercial motion.

01

Shared vision

Give independent participants one credible customer mission and a common definition of success.

02

Trust

Create the conditions for partners to invest, share intelligence, and resolve conflict before it compounds.

03

Clear processes

Remove friction from discovery, integration, co-selling, procurement, delivery, and support.

04

Aligned incentives

Make the economics attractive enough for every essential participant to keep choosing the ecosystem.

05

Scalability

Scale the operating system that produces outcomes, not the volume of disconnected activity.

06

Continuous innovation

Turn customer and partner learning into a governed cycle of new capability and market relevance.

07

Actionable intelligence

Convert ecosystem telemetry into the next decision, investment, intervention, or deliberate exit.

QuarterlyEcosystem war room

Position, contested accounts, investment choices, and the next sequence of joint moves.

MonthlyBattle intelligence

Competitive envelopment, market signals, partner health, and commercial evidence.

WeeklyJoint pipeline triage

The opportunities and blockers that prove whether the strategy is working in the field.

DailyTrust mechanism

Resolve one point of friction before it becomes an ecosystem-wide cost.

The operating record

Research with consequences in the real market.

A career built where technology, commercial strategy, partnerships, and human judgement meet.

Dr. Alejandro Canonero, DBA, has spent more than three decades building and leading technology ecosystems across AWS, Google Cloud, ByteDance, Criteo, Teradata, HP, Documentum EMC, Dell, and Kyriba.

He was part of the team that built AWS Marketplace in EMEA and the AWS partner organisation for the public sector. At Google Cloud he led global partner ecosystem work for the public sector. At Criteo he built the indirect channel strategy and partner program from the ground up.

His doctoral research examined the critical success factors of cloud, software as a service, and artificial intelligence partner ecosystems. That research, combined with experience across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and other international markets, anchors three connected frameworks: Platform Envelopment, Minimum Viable Ecosystems, and Ecosystem Commander.

Character under pressure

The person matters as much as the framework.

Five full Ironman triathlons. Certified triathlon coach. Scuba instructor. Civil Defense volunteer. Scout leader. Father of four. These are not ornaments to a biography. They reflect the qualities that shape the work: preparation, resilience, responsibility, service, and the ability to remain calm and useful when the plan changes.
